Luang Prabang is an outstanding example of the fusion of traditional architecture and Lao urban structures with those built by the French colonial authorities in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is a unique, remarkably well-preserved town that is worth spending time exploring. The architecture and lifestyle is a "melange" between the two distinct cultural traditions. But also the natural beauty surrounding the town is inviting people to stay a little bit longer...

Day 1: Luang Prabang Arrival (L)
Aarrive at Luang Prabang airport, you will be met and transferred to your prefered hotel in town. Then explore the beauty of this town on our city tour with visits to Wat Visun, Wat Aham, Wat Xieng Thong. Walk along the Wat street and also visit the Wat Mai. After lunch, climb up to Phousi Hill for overlooking the city scenery and the amazing sunset. From here you can see the magic Mekong and the small Nam Khan River. Rest of the day is at your own pace. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 2: Luang Prabang - Mekong - Pak Ou Caves (B, L)
Start your day with a boat trip on Mekong river to the well-known Pak Ou caves. Stop on the way to visit Muang Kham and Ban Xang Hai where the distillation of the rice whisky. Then continue to Pak Ou, visit the exciting "Tham Ting cave", cross the Mekong to Ban Pak Ou to have lunch. Return to Lang Prabang, drive to visit the tomb of Henri Mouhot, the explorer of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. You will enjoy the short walk along the Khan River. On your return, stop at Ban Phanom village, where is famous for silk weaving. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 3: Luang Prabang - Kuang Si Waterfall (B, L)
Take an excusion to the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall, on the way stop to visit Hmong-and Khmu villages. From here you will start with our soft trek that brings you out into small villages. You can learn about their way of life and the differences between Lao, Khamu-and-Hmong-culture. Arrive at the waterfall for a refreshing bath. Picnic lunch will be provided for today. Return to Luang Prabang for your overnight stay.

Day 4: Luang Prabang - Elephant Ride (B)
Elephant Programs at Elephant Park Project, Luang Prabang outside of town. Activities with Elephants combined with Trekking or Kayaking, or a half-day tour on Elephants with waterfall visit. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 5: Luang Prabang Departure (B)
Take your time to visit the vegetable market, the former King's Palace or other attractive highlights in this little town. You can spend your time to explore the small roads and colonial buildings, or just hang out with the view on the Mekong River. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. End of services.
